Date: December 13-15, 2017 Location: Alpine Hunting & Fishing Club & Gobbler's Knob Hunting Preserve Heroes Attended: 6 WHHC Guide: Adam Hofmeister Outcome: Our Heroes were greeted at the Alpine Club for a delightful Welcome Dinner. The next two days, the Heroes enjoyed an action packed pheasant hunt. As tradition would have it, the Heroes would hunt snow covered fields. The first hunt occurred at the Alpine Hunting & Fishing Club and then for the second hunt, the Heroes headed up to Gobbler's Knob Hunting Preserve. Date: December 7-11, 2017 Location: Casey, IL Heroes Attended: 2 WHHC Guide: Tommy Belinda Outcome: Every year we look forward to the opportunity to send our Heroes on a trophy whitetail hunt in IL with our friends from the T. B. Wilderness Lodge. This year we were thrilled to find out that both Heroes harvested nice bucks. A big thank you to the crew out in Illinois that works hard to make this event possible each year! Date: December 9, 2017 Location: Philadelphia, PA Heroes Attended: 1 WHHC Guide: Jeremy Harbaugh Outcome: WHHC Hero Brandon Thomas and WHHC founder Jeremy Harbaugh attended the Army vs. Navy football together. This would be Brandon's last time as an Active Duty Soldier watching the game. Brandon is a USMA graduate and Jeremy is a USNA graduate. While snow poured down the entire evening into the night, the two teams fought hard. As the clock ran out, Army came out on top for their first win in this match up since 1996. Date: December 7, 2017 Location: Windber, PA Heroes Attended: 5 WHHC Guide: George Bayer Outcome: All five Heroes were able to harvest multiple pheasants and got some time to enjoy each other's company as well as get some much needed R&R (rest and recuperation). Thank you to Mountain View Acres for making this an annual event for our Heroes! Date: December 3-6, 2017 Location: Hollidaysburg, PA Heroes Attended: 2 WHHC Guide: Brandon Thomas Outcome: Both Heroes had a great hunt and were surrounded by friends and family of the WHHC for this 3 day hunt. Thank you to everyone at T.B. Wilderness for making this hunt happen year after year. Location: Dover, DE Outcome: Location: WHHC Guide Chris Rupp surprise Timothy Horne with the Award of Patriotism today. Tim's support helped WHHC complete its missions at the Dover International Speedway during the 2017 NASCAR season.  |
