Date: August 31, 2023 Number Of Heroes Attending: 1 Location: Waterside Marina, Texas Details: A few days ago, we received a message from the daughter of a Vietnam war veteran stating she hoped to receive guidance on how to catch fish on Lake Houston. She mentioned that her dad and son had been fishing for weeks with nothing to bring home. So, our team jumped into action. Three days later veteran Don and his grandson AJ met with us at the Lake Houston Marina where Don was presented with a custom fishing rod that was tailored to reflect the awards he received while in Vietnam. Having Don and his grandson AJ on the boat last night was fantastic and we were truly honored to serve a true warrior! We look forward to having Don and AJ out again soon.

Date: August 8, 2023 Number Of Heroes Attending: 2 Location: Huffman, Texas Details: Last night WHHC had the honor of taking wounded Marine LaShonda and her family fishing on Lake Houston. We met at the Waterside Marina in Huffman and we’re on our way to the fishing grounds at 6:45PM. After a few hours of trolling the coolers began to fill with fish for LoShonda and her family to take home. By 11pm we reached our limits and started our journey back to the marina. It was an absolute pleasure getting LaShonda and her wonderful family out on the water. We can’t wait to see them again.
Once again, our gratitude not only goes to the Heroes and their families, but also to the people behind the scenes that make these trips possible. Zackary Scott and Heather Scott are a few of those people, these two have never turned down the opportunity to take our Wounded Heroes out on the water.
