Date: June 8-9, 2018 Location: North Side Sportsmen’s Association in Warrendale, PA Heroes Attended: 11 WHHC Guides: Christopher Rupp and Adam Hofmeister Outcome: The Wounded Heroes Hunting Camp hosted the 7th Annual Trap Shoot for Heroes this weekend. We had 11 WHHC alumni in attendance and were able to raise funds to support our upcoming outdoor adventures. A pre-event dinner was held on Friday evening at the North Side Sportsmen's Association for our Heroes who drove in to Pittsburgh with pizza provided by Monte Cello’s restaurant for all of our Heroes and volunteers. On Saturday, we kicked off our 7th Annual Trap Shoot for Heroes. We had 133 shooters come out and participate this year, far exceeding the number of supporters we have had attend in the past. Before the event started, we held a moment of silence for our brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. We were proud to display the 3 Remembering the Brave memorial displays, honoring Lance Corporal Gregory Rund, Sergeant Joseph Caskey, and Lance Corporal Kyle Burns. Thank you to all of our supporters, volunteers, and the North Side Sportsmen's Association. Another big thanks to Monte Cello's Italian Restaurant for the great food provided to everyone in attendance and to Brews Brothers Six-Pack Emporium for donating cold beer for our Heroes to enjoy after shooting concluded! This was a truly remarkable event that raised over $21,000 to support upcoming outdoor adventures for our Wounded Heroes this fall. |
